CHENXI ZHAI

Welcome to my homepage! I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Cornell University. I am committed to investigating the structural evolution and mechanics/mechanical/multi-physical properties of solid, non-crystalline soft matter (polymers, biopolymers, and foam ceramics) under the multi-physics field, and revealing their microstructure-property-process relationship, via experiments and multi-scale modeling. With a multidisciplinary background in mechanical engineering, materials science, statistical physics, and chemistry, I try to fundamentally understand the physical properties of materials and their behaviors, on the basis of which I computationally design new materials and experimentally reproduce them for developing wide applications in our daily lives. I am also a licensed material mechanical testing engineer.
